Ready to study yoga more in-depth?

Our 200-hour yoga teacher training starts April 1st

Accidentally hit the snooze button & missed the registration deadline?

You can still join - reach out to Laura today!

If you find yourself wondering how & why things are a certain way in class...

A 200-hour yoga teacher training is the foundational program that gives you more insight into yoga philosophy, alignment, sequencing, breathwork, and more.

This 200-hour yoga teacher training is geared towards helping you learn tools to broaden your own self-study, understand how to independently teach vinyasa yoga safely, and provide you a foundation in which you can begin your own teaching career should you wish to do so.

Attending a synchronous training allows you to study & practice yoga with like-minded individuals in a supportive and structured environment. The small-size cohort allows plenty of individual attention and practice with your peers & with the lead trainer directly.

You'll graduate with more confidence in your personal practice & the knowledge to build & teach your own classes to a variety of students.

This training qualifies you to apply as a yoga instructor anywhere, as you will graduate with a 200-hour teaching certificate. You will graduate with the knowledge and skillset to immediately begin teaching, if you choose to pursue a teaching path.

While Twisted Hot yoga does not guarantee employment post graduation, you will have an opportunity to demo for Twisted should you have the interest to do so & if Twisted has the availability on their teaching roster.

Topics include:

yoga history & philosophy

functional anatomy, alignment, & modifications

subtle anatomy & energy

holding & guiding a meditation practice

introductions to yin yoga, restorative yoga, & yoga nidra

Your Lead Trainer

All aspects of this training program have been intentionally built & crafted by Laura. She combines organizational & leadership skills honed by her medical billing career with her experience as a lead teacher in a public yoga studio to create an educational experience that will leave you inspired to explore your personal practice and prepared to teach immediately upon graduation.

With four sections of training, you'll remain focused in a way that allows a deeper understanding of each topic...

Part 1:

The Anatomical

Create your teaching foundation by understanding anatomy from a western lens.

You'll learn about the physical body, respiration, and how joint movement relates to our practice - and start learning how to combine your new knowledge with teaching asana [the physical poses of yoga].

In this section, you'll also have an overview on the Eight Limbs of yoga & start practice teaching.  Asanas are introduced that create a baseline from which breathwork will begin to be explored.  Additional asana breakdowns include foundational standing asanas, twists, and forward bends to help support your growing anatomical understanding.

No previous anatomical knowledge required!

Part 2:

The Metaphysical & Self Awareness

Dive into yoga's history & philosophy!

Topics include various pranayama techniques; exploration of the Eight Limbs of yoga including a deep dive into the yamas & niyamas; meditation & yin yoga; subtle energy including koshas, bandhas, & chakras; and an introduction to Ayuerveda.

There are extensive opportunities for self reflection, using the various lenses of the subtle body as tools for self study.

To prep for the next section of training, you'll explore many asana breakdowns - within the families of standing asanas, balancing asanas, abdominal core asanas, hand & arm supporting asanas, backbends, forward bends, hip openers, inversions, and of course the classic class closure of savasana.

Part 3:

Building Classes & Teaching Skills

Learn skills that will carry you through to real-world teaching by understanding & practicing sequencing and focusing on language.

You'll explore sequencing, class planning, and cueing in depth with extensive partner & group exercises. Your knowledge from asana breakdowns will be paired with how to communicate information in a relatable, efficient, & safe way during classes.

The topics of trauma-sensitive yoga and teaching under the lens of inclusivity are highlighted in relation to language choices during class - including exploring intent vs. impact.

As your knowledge base grows, you'll also learn how to make shifts for various class styles - in preparation for understanding how + when to modify your practice, and understanding how to teach at a variety of studios. In the same spirit, you'll learn how + when to include advanced asana.

Part 4:

Moving Forward

Begin to close out your training with tools that will set you up for success in a teaching career, should you choose to take that path.

You'll learn aspects of efficient class planning, including breaking down how to create a series of classes. The practicalities of teaching, including business aspects of starting & maintaining a teaching career, are outlined.

Then round out your teaching skills with overviews on more niche skillsets. You'll gain an understanding of restorative yoga and yoga nidra. You'll also explore the foundation of tactile guidance [hands-on adjustments] & be given an overview of prenatal yoga.

You'll end training by showing off all your hard work, and celebrating graduation day!
